Okay, colored dimaonds are a personal preferance .infact some colored dimaonds are far more costly than white dimaonds, especially yellow ones (canary), blue dimaonds and the extremely rare red diamond.The cost depends on size, color, clarity, any occulsions present and DEMAND ..if there is a lesser demand for a 1 ct black diamond of equal 'perfection' as a white one, then the black diamond will cost less.It's all about supply and demand.I personally don't care for black dimaonds altho I do love champagne and chocolate ones, and yellow canary dimaonds if SHE really likes it, that is all that matters.BTW my e-ring is a garnet! I love red garnets and mine has a 2.5 ct oval round brilliant cut deep red almandine garnet (my husband's birthstone) as a center stone with 1 ct of round champagne dimaonds framing the garnet ..many gals prefer colored stones or gems that hold meaning for them your gal will be unique and NOT following all the 'sheep' if she wears a black diamond .good luck.
